PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A successor app, rebuilt with Tauri v2 and Rust, for an old dedicated tool that issued barcoded inspection receipts in a dyeing-and-finishing plant. Scanning a barcode fetches product data from the database; the operator enters defect counts and lengths per roll and prints an inspection ticket and a summary ticket. Production and trial items with different code formats are told apart by digit count, and tests guarantee the printed output matches the original tool byte for byte. The database is read-only, and a successful print appends a stage-completion record to a shared folder for the viewer app.
Highlights
Background & Challenges
Rebuilding a ticket-issuing tool that depended on an old proprietary executable, in a maintainable form
Read more →Key Features
Scan, type inspection values, and print a barcoded inspection ticket
Read more →Key Features: Summary Ticket
At the end of a lot, issue a summary of all printed tickets
Read more →Architecture & Technology Choices
Calculation and formatting sit in a pure Rust library independent of UI and printing
Read more →Engineering: Production vs. Trial Auto-Detection
Switch the data source and colour extraction by digit count alone
Read more →Engineering: Golden Tests Against the Original Ticket
Pin the output to be identical, character for character, to the original tool's ticket
Read more →Engineering: Resilient Printing and Storage
Assume scripts, shared folders and temp files can fail, and never stall without a ticket
Read more →Results & Status
Running as a successor that issues the same tickets; floor verification continues
